We need to go over the math behind the epi solutions of 1:1000 and 1:10,000. How many milligrams of epi will there be in 1ml solution of each? This will make clear just what we are doing when we draw up these solutions and put them in IV's to make drips.

    Please clarify.

    1mL of 1:1000 = 1mg (ET tube dose)
    0.5mL of 1:1000 = 0.5mg (IM dose)
1mL of 1:10,000 = 0.1mg (IV dose), but you add this 1mL to 10mL NS for slow IV push

    For epi IV drip = 0.1-1 mcg/kg/min
